PTE Core, IELTS General Training, and CELPIP-General are different tests, but Canadian immigration programs compare them through the same Canadian Language Benchmark scale. This tool helps you see how scores from each test map to CLB levels for listening, reading, speaking, and writing. That is useful when you are choosing which approved English test to take, comparing a previous IELTS or CELPIP result with PTE Core, or checking what score you need to reach a target CLB.
The important detail is that CLB is calculated per skill, not from one overall test score. A test can feel stronger in one module and weaker in another, so the table separates each ability instead of giving one generic conversion. For example, the PTE Core score needed for a CLB level can differ between listening, reading, speaking, and writing, while CELPIP uses the same score number across all four abilities.
Use the score conversion mode when you already have test results and want to understand the equivalent CLB. Use the CLB comparison mode when your immigration pathway requires a specific target, such as CLB 7, CLB 9, or CLB 10.
